Just Another Wine Podcast….
Or not another wine podcast. Said with heavy irony in a world-weary voice. Does the world need more talking heads rapping about wine? Maybe. Maybe not. But we’re doing it for fun. And hoping that that sense of fun, camaraderie, and good energy communicates across the ether. It’s a lovely excuse for us to get together over a bottle of wine and banter – and learn – about a subject that fascinates us all. Also, the podcast provides an opportunity to dive into areas of wine that are perhaps not so touched upon, digging into the science whilst referencing philosophy, literature, music, the neuro-psychology of taste and writing, amongst others! We will naturally allow ourselves to digress and relate pertinent and personal anecdotes. All in all, the podcast will be a natural wild ferment of totally unfiltered opinions – with a minimum amount of added sulphites. So, not just another wine podcast!
Imagine dropping in on a conversation in a wine bar, where three friends are chatting uninhibitedly about wine. The relaxed podcast formula is “no-formula”, the only constraints being its one-hour duration (never enough when you are enjoying yourself or developing a line of thought) and talking about the bottle of wine we have popped and poured halfway through the chat. We taste said wine, relate some of the back story, and explore its flavours and see where the journey takes us. We will each bring our personalities, our experiences, our opinions, and our respective style to the table.

The podcasts will be released at two week intervals, beginning in mid-Jan and trailed on socials. The introductory one is “getting to know you/us”, relating how the heck each of us got into/fell into wine, how we became “professionals”, what we love about our job/hobby, and what we are up to now. Episode 2 is called Your Faults, My Flaws and is a discursive discussion of the major perceived wine faults such as mousiness, VA, brett and so forth. Or are they flaws? Hear our friendly wrangling on this controversial matter!
More updates on the podcasts and the topics under discussion in the forthcoming weeks. Follow (or check in to) our IG pages for further news!
