We roll blinking into September with a pair of trade tastings.
The first is in London called (Do You) Remember the 23rd of September? The title is a nod and a wink to Earth, Wind & Fire’s September (so we changed the date from the song, I know!). The wines will have the funk (without being funky), appeal to your sense of rhythm and booze, and, to continue the homage “you have got to get them into your life”.
We will be showing new grooves and remastered classics (um, new vintages). In addition, Patrick Sullivan will be spinning the corkscrew on his own wines in person. Now, I think we put the extended metaphor to bed!
This tasting will take place at the iconic Brunswick House on Wandsworth Road, a quirky Georgian mansion nestled amongst the Lego skyscrapers of Vauxhall, and well-known venue for antique chandelier-spotters.
The following week the travelling disco (short for discovery) moves to Manchester with a cute selection of vinous cuts. The event will take place at Ducie Street Warehouse, a former cotton warehouse in the city centre.
We will be sharing some of the wines that will be on pour, so please stay tuned to our insta channel, @lescavesdepyrene
We will also be holding a focused tasting on the wines of The Americas in October (on Monday 21st – venue to be decided) to celebrate the arrival of our latest shipment from the US. Expect some weird, wonderful, and very delicious things such as an amphora Aligoté from Oregon and a Mencia/Arinto blend from Santa Maria in California. The northern exposure wines will be joined by some due south beauties including Leo Erazo’s terroir-driven reds and whites from Itata in Chile, and Cara Sur, a project dedicated to beautiful old vines Criollas growing in vineyards in Calingasta (San Juan), Argentina, and overseen by two young winemaking couples.
